Wide research activity takes place at NCBJ, especially basic research in nuclear physics and related fields, reactor research and development of nuclear fuel, safety of nuclear installations and many others.
Currently, we are looking for a person for a position in Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Studies (UZ3)
Mechanical engineer for FEM strength analyses
Work location: Otwock, Poland (Suburb of Warsaw, efficient and free daily bus transport service provided).
Role and Responsibilities:
- Participation in the implementation of projects related to the implementation of high temperature gas-cooled reactor technology (HTGR) for industry in Poland,
- Participation in the design work of the HTGR research reactor, a demonstrator of a combined heat and power plant combined with the HTGR reactor,
- Evaluation of technical documentation (also prepared by external partners in English),
- Preparation of technical reports, work records, presentations from the conducted analyses,
- Performing strength analyses of the equipment of the planned CHP plant with the HTGR reactor,
- Performing other activities ordered by the Laboratory head and project superiors at NCBJ.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. Eng. Diploma, specialization in mechanics (or equivalent),
- Ability to perform strength analyses, knowledge of the finite element method (FEM),
- Evaluation of structural solutions in terms of mechanical strength,
- Using FEM software,
- Knowledge of CAD/CAE software
- Analytical skills and the ability to draw logical conclusions,
- Ability to prepare analyses and reports based on independently collected data,
- Ability to use design codes (PN-EN, ASME),
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Additional assets:
- Good knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical software,
- Ability to read and create technical drawings and technical descriptions,
- Experience in designing pressure vessels,
- Knowledge of seismic resistance analysis,
- Experience in working with the power industry,
- Professional experience in a similar position in the field of strength analysis and FEM calculations.
